Senior Project Engineer – 132kV GIS & AIS Delivery

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of 132kV GIS and AIS substation projects across Yorkshire and the North. The role involves full‑lifecycle engineering, from feasibility studies through to commissioning, for critical high‑voltage infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and manage 132kV GIS and AIS substation replacement, reinforcement and new installation projects.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, including network operators and equipment suppliers.
• Oversee feasibility, planning, procurement and delivery stages to ensure on‑time, on‑budget completion.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality and cost standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering major 132kV substation projects.
• Strong background in GIS and AIS systems within high‑voltage environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent understanding of safety, cost control and quality assurance processes.

Required skills

• GIS (Gas‑Insulated Switchgear) technology.
• AIS (Air‑Insulated Switchgear) technology.
