Senior Project Engineer - Civils

About the role

The company is a leading specialist contractor in foundations and ground engineering, seeking a Senior Project Engineer to deliver major infrastructure and civil engineering projects across London. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will ensure safe, profitable and high‑quality delivery of piling and foundation works.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and maintain method statements, risk assessments and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, wellbeing and environmental procedures.
• Prepare lift plans and support safe site operations.
• Review design information and align works with design requirements.
• Manage quality documentation, as‑built records and production data.
• Monitor site quality inspections and maintain site records, diaries and production control information.
• Liaise with clients, designers, engineers, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Lead progress meetings and support resource planning, cost management and contract administration.
• Assist with early warnings, compensation events and change control under NEC contracts.

Required profile

• Degree, HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in civil engineering, piling or foundations.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and civil engineering principles.
• Valid CSCS card and working knowledge of NEC contracts.

Required skills

• Production of RAMS and ITPs.
• Quality documentation management.
• Rotary bored piling and diaphragm wall construction.
• Support fluid (polymer) management.
• Inspection using Koden or sonic caliper technology.
• Experience with complex reinforcement cage and coupler inspections.
