Senior Project Engineer - Design

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead front‑end design and planning of substation and extra‑high‑voltage (EHV) projects across Yorkshire. You will shape major electricity network investments from concept through to delivery readiness, working on schemes up to 132 kV.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and plan EHV project pipelines from concept to delivery readiness.
• Produce front‑end design and specifications for substation projects.
• Work on 11 kV to 132 kV assets, including plant replacement and connection schemes.
• Coordinate technical requirements across multiple stakeholders.
• Support the transition of designs into delivery teams.

Required profile

• Strong background in electricity distribution or transmission engineering.
• Experience with substation assets and EHV systems.
• Ability to manage technical design and planning workloads.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; NEBOSH certification advantageous.
