Senior Project Estimator

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Senior Project Estimator to join its Project Management and Sales teams in Swindon. The role involves delivering accurate cost estimates, quotations and pricing for construction and shopfitting projects while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for Project Managers, Sales and Site Teams on all pricing matters.
• Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates for customer enquiries.
• Produce Bills of Materials from drawings and Excel spreadsheets.
• Call off equipment from technical drawings and discuss quotations and final accounts with clients and Quantity Surveyors.
• Maintain and update customer schedules of rates and pricing information.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value within budget.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements and company procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A‑C) including English and Mathematics.
• At least 2 years’ experience in shopfitting, construction or a similar industry.
• Previous experience in estimating, sales support or customer service.
• Experience within a joinery company is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of estimating, costing and pricing processes.
• Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and construction drawings.
• Competence in producing Bills of Materials from drawings.

• Salary £30,000‑£45,000 per year, dependent on experience.
