Senior Project Manager – Financial Services

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Change Management function of a mid‑sized financial services organisation. This 12‑month fixed‑term role will lead high‑profile business transformation initiatives within a regulated environment, working closely with both business and technology teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, mobilisation and delivery of complex change initiatives across the business.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, RAID logs, reporting and governance activities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams and third‑party suppliers to ensure successful outcomes.
• Build strong relationships at all levels, including senior leadership, and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies and change controls.
• Support portfolio reporting and drive continuous improvement within the change function.
• Mentor and support other project managers to strengthen delivery capability.
• Ensure alignment between business change activities and technical delivery teams operating in Agile/DevSecOps environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex projects in financial services or another highly regulated sector.
• Strong end‑to‑end project management capability with a focus on business change.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience with executive‑level stakeholders.
• Understanding of delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile and MSP.
• Experience managing third‑party suppliers and outsourced delivery partners.
• Commercial awareness with experience handling budgets, business cases and benefit realisation.
• Resilient, adaptable and comfortable in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
• Previous line‑management or mentoring experience is advantageous.

What we offer

• Base salary of £80,000–£85,000 per year.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
