Senior Project Manager – HVDC Projects

About the role

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of high‑voltage direct current (HVDC) projects that power millions of people worldwide. Based in Stafford, you will act as the critical link between UK technical teams and international project teams and customers, ensuring projects stay on schedule, on budget, and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the senior interface between product engineering, central technology, and project execution teams for large HVDC projects.
• Collaborate with UK manufacturing teams to align equipment delivery with project timelines.
• Identify risks early, drive timely escalation, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Apply deep technical knowledge to make sound judgment calls on operational, engineering, and manufacturing challenges.
• Support customer negotiations and build trusted, long‑term partnerships.
• Spot new opportunities with functional partners and develop innovative solutions for customers.

Required profile

• Confident, technically‑mindful leader with substantial experience managing large‑scale HVDC or similar energy projects.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and build strong relationships across teams and cultures.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and manufacturing locations as needed.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours to meet key project milestones.
