Senior Project Manager – New Product Development (NPD)

About the role

We are seeking a confident Senior Project Manager to lead the development of a highly innovative, technically advanced product within a regulated engineering environment. You will own the full product lifecycle, from concept through to manufacturing and launch, working closely with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of NPD projects, ensuring timely progression from concept to production.
• Drive structured, gated project delivery in complex engineering or manufacturing settings.
• Take full ownership of project performance, managing timelines, budgets, risks and outcomes.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality and commercial functions.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, steering committees and defend project decisions.
• Identify and mitigate technical, operational and commercial risks throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure alignment between design intent and manufacturing capability, emphasizing Design for Manufacture.
• Manage change control, governance and reporting to achieve successful project outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering new product development projects from concept to completion.
• Background in engineering or manufacturing environments (essential).
• Experience in highly regulated industries, preferably defence or similar sectors.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive delivery in complex settings.
• Confident communicator capable of challenging and representing the team at senior level.
• Solid understanding of project governance, risk management and financial control.
• Willingness to travel regularly to Aberdeen and ability to obtain SC‑level security clearance.
