Senior Project Manager – Service Desk Transformation & Cloud Transition

About the role

This interim senior project manager role will lead the outsourcing and transformation of a client’s Service Desk while supporting a broader cloud and data‑centre exit strategy. Based in London with a hybrid schedule (2–3 days on site), the role reports to senior technology leaders and works closely with executive stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the transition of an in‑house Service Desk to a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
• Drive Service Desk transformation initiatives, including automation, ServiceNow implementation and digital employee experience improvements.
• Manage the selection, mobilisation and governance of a new Cloud Support Partner.
• Oversee on‑premise to Azure cloud migration activities, identifying and managing risks, dependencies and operational impacts.
• Provide programme governance, stakeholder management and vendor oversight throughout the transition.
• Engage with senior technology leaders and C‑suite executives to ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience outsourcing a Service Desk or End‑User Support function to an MSP.
• Strong programme management experience in large‑scale IT transformation environments.
• Demonstrated experience supporting on‑premise to Azure cloud migration programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills.
• Ability to work confidently with both technical teams and senior executives.
• Desirable: experience with offshore service providers (e.g., India) and background in ServiceNow, digital workplace transformation and data‑centre exit programmes.
