Senior Public Affairs Consultant – UK & Ireland

About the role

This temporary senior public affairs position supports one of the world’s largest logistics companies during a maternity leave. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Affairs, the role starts in late September or early October and runs for longer than six months.

Key responsibilities

• Act as senior ambassador for the business, representing it to government and external stakeholders across the UK and Ireland.
• Lead the development and delivery of policy responses on transport, trade facilitation, customs, borders and employment issues.
• Build and leverage a high‑level stakeholder network to influence decision‑makers in Westminster and the Devolved Nations.
• Provide strategic direction and guidance to the public affairs team from day one.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of leadership or management experience in public affairs or policy.
• Proven senior‑level experience in Whitehall or comparable corporate environments.
• Strong political judgment and influencing skills.
• Background in logistics, transport, trade, customs, or related policy areas is highly desirable.
