Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk

About the role

Headstar is looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger professional to step into a senior position. You will own a busy ledger, support the wider finance function and become a go‑to person for the team.

Key responsibilities

• Process a high volume of invoices each month accurately and on time.
• Own supplier accounts, resolve queries and build strong relationships.
• Support finance and operational teams with invoice and payment enquiries.
• Maintain accurate supplier information and account records.
• Monitor shared finance inboxes and respond promptly to internal and external requests.
• Investigate discrepancies and work with stakeholders to resolve issues quickly.
• Assist with month‑end activities and broader accounts tasks as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase ledger efficiency.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable.
• Ability to manage a busy workload and high‑volume processing with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ownership of work.
• Effective prioritisation and ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
• Proactive, positive attitude and a collaborative team mindset.
