Senior Python Automation Engineer (12‑month contract, hybrid)

About the role

Our client, a leader in the technology sector, is seeking a Senior Python Automation Engineer to drive enterprise‑grade automation and selectively integrate AI technologies. This 12‑month contract role is hybrid and operates inside IR35.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust automation solutions that streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to extend existing agent‑based solutions and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) implementations.
• Own the full software lifecycle – build, deploy, monitor, and tune solutions in a live environment.
• Transition proof‑of‑concept automation into production‑ready systems.
• Apply AI concepts pragmatically, leveraging LLMs and generative AI where they add value.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with expert‑level Python development.
• Familiarity with large language models, generative AI and frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs, working with SQL and data processing pipelines.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD practices and a production‑focused engineering mindset.
• Ability to extend and enhance existing automation rather than building from scratch.
