Senior Python Developer – Risk & PnL Team

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer to join the Risk & PnL team supporting a critical trading platform in a leading financial services firm. The role involves developing and enhancing the TRACC application used by the Derivatives Execution & Clearing business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Python‑based applications and services.
• Build and enhance web APIs that deliver core business functionality.
• Develop, optimise and maintain database structures and SQL queries.
• Implement front‑end features using JavaScript and Angular.
• Drive test automation, TDD and CI/CD pipelines, primarily with Jenkins.
• Collaborate with business analysts, testers and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver enhancements from the Jira backlog.
• Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions and Agile best‑practice promotion.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in Python development with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
• Proven experience building and maintaining web APIs.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational database design.
• Hands‑on experience with JavaScript, HTML and Angular for front‑end work.
• Demonstrated use of Test‑Driven Development and automated testing.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
