Senior Python Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join our Watford team on a hybrid basis. You will design, build and scale high‑performance Python applications that support core business functions and enhance customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable Python services and micro‑services.
• Build robust RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask.
• Write clean, well‑tested code and contribute to automated testing suites.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and fellow engineers to deliver features.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical decision‑making and performance optimisation.
• Support cloud‑native deployments on Azure and automate infrastructure.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Strong grasp of software design patterns and engineering best practices.
• Proven experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Solid testing background using PyTest, unit and integration tests.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication abilities.
