Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established insurance business in the UK that is heavily investing in its technology and digital teams. As a Senior QA Automation Engineer you will shape automation practices within a mature engineering environment, working closely with software engineers, product managers and fellow QA professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web and mobile applications.
• Improve testing processes and embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Champion automation, mentor junior QA engineers and promote an automation‑first mindset.
• Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to ensure reliable, high‑quality releases.
• Contribute to the evolution of testing standards, tooling and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience building automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Proven ability to design and implement API, web and mobile automation tests.
• Deep knowledge of Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline configuration.
• Experience with mobile automation tools such as Maestro, BrowserStack, Microsoft Intune or TestFlight.
• Solid experience working in Agile software development teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
