Senior Quantity Surveyor – M&E Cost Manager

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join a commercial team that supports both Business‑as‑Usual works and major capital projects across a portfolio of technically complex assets. The role is client‑side, hands‑on, and requires on‑site presence four days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain master plans for BAU and capital projects on a bi‑annual cycle.
• Develop early‑stage cost advice to inform commercial decisions.
• Produce detailed budgets, cost plans and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Review scope, design and tender information to identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead value‑engineering exercises and recommend value‑for‑money improvements.
• Monitor costs against approved budgets, manage change control and report variances.
• Support procurement activities, evaluate tenders and assist in contractor selection.
• Assess valuations, payment recommendations and negotiate final accounts.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager on complex building or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in sectors such as healthcare, pharma, airports, rail, utilities or large‑scale commercial developments.
• Ability to work on‑site four days a week and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on value, quality and safety.
