Senior Quantity Surveyor – MEP / Construction

About the role

NG Bailey is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Glasgow team. You will drive commercial excellence on medium to large MEP and construction projects, ensuring profitability and financial performance while upholding the company’s safety‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and embed the safety‑first message across all project activities.
• Manage and coach Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors where required.
• Review and interpret contract terms, identify risks, and capture commercial opportunities.
• Ensure contract compliance and liaise with project teams on status updates.
• Oversee the agreement process for any changes to NG Bailey’s contractual obligations.
• Take responsibility for cash‑flow forecasting, payment submissions and receipt.
• Monitor and forecast project costs and revenue throughout the lifecycle.
• Assist with procurement and management of sub‑contractors.
• Provide accurate reporting on costs, contingencies, liabilities, sales and margins.
• Develop and maintain long‑term stakeholder relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Negotiate final account settlements with the Commercial Manager and facilitate sign‑off.
• Maintain necessary records and reports and support dispute resolution when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP or construction projects.
• English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) required.
• Relevant BSc/degree or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.
