Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water

About the role

Join a leading UK infrastructure contractor delivering long‑term utilities and infrastructure projects in the South East. The position is based in West Sussex with a hybrid working pattern, offering strong job security on a multi‑year programme.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial delivery of water‑related infrastructure projects, including cost control, valuations, variations and financial reporting.
• Oversee and mentor a team of two Quantity Surveyors / Junior QSs, ensuring consistent delivery and development of junior talent.
• Collaborate with project teams to align budgets with commercial objectives and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified Quantity Surveyor with proven senior‑level experience.
• Strong background in commercial management on infrastructure projects, preferably within utilities, water or other regulated sectors.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.
• Ability to work on‑site three days per week.

Required skills

• Cost management and valuation techniques.
• Commercial reporting and variation management.
• Understanding of regulated utilities environments.
