Senior Safeguarding Practitioner – Adults Team

About the role

Our client, Shropshire Council, is seeking an experienced Senior Safeguarding Practitioner to join the Adults team. You will play a pivotal part in strengthening adult safeguarding procedures and ensuring vulnerable adults receive safe, high‑quality support.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and improve existing adult safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Deputise for the Team Manager on safeguarding matters when required.
• Respond to concerns and enquiries about adults at risk of abuse.
• Manage a complex caseload, promoting independence and low‑risk environments for service users.
• Provide advice, line‑manage and support Safeguarding Practitioners.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with providers and partner agencies to uphold care standards.

Required profile

• Proven ability to handle conflict and maintain a robust stance against challenges.
• Experience working with adult safeguarding frameworks and case management.
• Willingness to register fully with Remedy for locum positions and undergo an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
