Senior Sales Assistant (Part Time)

About the role

Heron Foods is looking for a Senior Sales Assistant to join its Hartlepool store on a part‑time basis. You will work 16 hours per week, supporting store operations and stepping in for management when required. This role offers a dynamic retail environment with opportunities for leadership development.

Key responsibilities

• Motivate and support the team to achieve sales and service targets.
• Deliver high‑standard customer service and resolve queries promptly.
• Maintain tidy, well‑stocked shelves and ensure attractive store presentation.
• Assist with stock management, deliveries and inventory control.
• Act as a keyholder, opening and closing the store and covering duties in the absence of management.

Required profile

• Friendly, approachable and professional demeanor.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast‑moving retail setting.
• Previous leadership experience in retail or hospitality, preferably with key‑holder responsibilities.
• Ability to multitask and take ownership of supervisory duties.
