Senior SAP Basis Consultant

About the role

Babcock is recruiting a Senior SAP Basis Consultant for its SAP Service and Programme, supporting national security and engineering projects. The role reports directly to the SAP Technical Team Lead and offers hybrid working, with days in the office and days working from home. It is full time, 37.5 hours per week, and is open to UK sites near Bristol, Devonport, Leicester, London, Portsmouth, Rosyth or Warrington.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical input into SAP product maintenance to ensure compliance and supportability
• Plan and execute upgrades aligned with SAP technology advancements
• Lead SAP technical initiatives and performance reviews, delivering actionable recommendations
• Work with Infrastructure teams (Network, Storage, Citrix, Server) to maintain system stability
• Drive continuous improvement across SAP environments

Required profile

• Demonstrable SAP Basis experience, ideally across multiple project lifecycles
• Experience in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines
• Ability to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance; must be British National
• Relevant SAP certifications or equivalent experience

Required skills

• Working knowledge of networks and firewalls
• SAP ECC, PO, BW, BPC, Gateway, IdM and Solution Manager
• SAP Cloud technologies (SuccessFactors, BTP, IAS/IPS, CALM)
• Additional cloud qualifications (BTP, CALM) are advantageous
