Senior SDET / Quality Lead
Employeur non precise · London
Job description
About the role
io.tt is a fast-growing platform serving global enterprise brands, and it is looking for a hands-on Senior SDET / Quality Lead to own its testing strategy and automation. The role shapes how quality engineering works at the company and builds the automated frameworks that let teams ship quickly and reliably. It reports to the Head of Engineering and is based in the central London (E1) office, hybrid with 2 days on site per week.
Key responsibilities
- Own test strategy across the platform, defining what quality means, where the real risks lie and how they are proved.
- Build and maintain the end-to-end and integration test safety net (e.g. Playwright) with CI gating, covering the cross-service areas unit tests miss.
- Ensure backward compatibility so existing customer experiences continue to render and behave correctly as the platform evolves.
- Test a configuration-driven product using contract, model-based and property-based testing.
- Validate analytics and data correctness, checking pipeline integrity and aggregation accuracy across Postgres and MongoDB.
- Own visual-regression, cross-browser and cross-device testing, and embed WCAG accessibility checks.
- Curate and improve the AI-generated tests produced by the team.
- Act as a consistent voice for quality across product, design and engineering.
Required profile
- 6+ years in software quality and test engineering, including senior or lead-level ownership of test strategy.
- Proven experience building automated test frameworks for a SaaS product (ideally web-based and complex).
- Systems-and-risk mindset, able to turn an ambiguous product into a clear, prioritised quality strategy.
- Experience embedding quality with engineering, product and design teams.
Required skills
- Strong hands-on TypeScript; Node or Bun backend with Postgres and MongoDB.
- At least one of: contract, model-based or property-based testing, or data-pipeline and analytics validation.
- Experience building E2E, integration and visual-regression frameworks wired into CI/CD.
- Comfortable working alongside AI-assisted development (e.g. Claude) to create and vet tests.
- Advantage: exposure to CMS, analytics or other configuration-heavy SaaS platforms.
What we offer
- 20 days holiday plus a festive shutdown, plus an extra day per year of service (capped at 5).
- Private medical insurance with Vitality after probation, company pension and sick pay.
- Cycle to work scheme and "Work From Anywhere" for one week a year (UK time).
- Dog-friendly office with breakfast, drinks and snacks, regular team events and a casual dress code.
