Senior Security Architect

About the role

Sopra Steria is seeking a Senior Security Architect to join its Cyber Security practice within the Aerospace, Defence & Security business. You will work from home with occasional travel to client sites, helping organisations design and deliver secure, resilient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support security architecture activities across a range of client engagements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and translate security requirements.
• Review existing and proposed architectures, identify risks and recommend appropriate controls.
• Produce high‑level security designs and related artefacts.
• Conduct security gap analyses and support assurance activities.
• Contribute to bids and proposals with security expertise.
• Work with the Cyber Security Centre of Excellence to promote best practice and innovation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Security Architecture function, preferably on customer‑facing projects.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex security concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience designing and documenting security controls using a risk‑based approach.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Relevant cyber security certification (e.g., CISSP, CCSK, CCSP).
• Eligibility for SC and DV clearance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of security architecture frameworks such as NIST, NCSC guidance and SABSA.
• Understanding of Secure by Design principles.
• Experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), Infrastructure Security, Data Security and Cloud Security.
