Senior Security Operations Analyst

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UK fintech to recruit a Senior Security Operations Analyst. Based in Leeds (or Manchester) with a hybrid working model, you will sit at the core of the Information Security team, driving threat detection and incident response at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, tune and maintain SIEM detection rules (Chronicle, Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel) and investigate alerts from start to finish.
• Monitor threat intelligence feeds, identify emerging threats and lead proactive hunting activities.
• Lead incident response – analyse, contain, remediate and communicate security incidents across technical and business teams.
• Operate and optimise Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tooling across the estate.
• Contribute to security policies, standards and design logical security controls, testing them for effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience with SIEM platforms such as Chronicle, Splunk or Sentinel.
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS and Windows Security Event Logs.
• Solid understanding of cloud and traditional infrastructure security principles.
• Ability to spot control weaknesses and communicate technical risk in clear business terms.
