Senior Social Worker - Children with disabilities

About the role

Our client, Rochdale Borough Council, is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities team. You will play a pivotal role in supporting social workers and advanced practitioners while delivering statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct statutory assessments, identify needs, strengths and risks, and develop person‑centred care plans.
• Manage complex caseloads and provide guidance to less experienced social workers.
• Deputise for the advanced practitioner when required.
• Collaborate with children, families, and multidisciplinary professionals.

Required profile

• Significant experience working within a children with disabilities team.
• Proven background in child protection, family safeguarding and care proceedings.
• Strong compliance, recording and timely completion of case work.
• Experience supporting ASYE social workers.
