Senior Social Worker - Children's high demand team

About the role
Our client Suffolk County Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the Children’s high demand team. The role involves delivering high‑quality statutory social work for children, young people and families where welfare, safeguarding or risk concerns exist.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake assessments of children and families in line with legislation, statutory guidance and local procedures.
- Respond to referrals, conduct Section 17 assessments and Section 47 enquiries as required.
- Identify and analyse risk, need and protective factors and make proportionate intervention decisions.
- Develop and implement child‑focused plans in partnership with families and agencies.
- Manage a complex caseload, prioritising work in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment.
- Prepare high‑quality assessments, reports and records within statutory timescales.
- Participate in multi‑agency meetings, child protection conferences and strategy sessions.
- Work closely with police, health, education, early help, legal services and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate, timely case records and undertake statutory visits.
- Support less experienced social workers and students through advice and professional guidance.
