Senior Software Engineer – Content Agent

About the role

Sanity is looking for a senior engineer to join the Content Agent team, the operations layer that turns bulk content work into actionable agent tasks. The role spans the full stack, building tools that run in Dashboard, Studio, Slack and a headless API, and focuses on reliable AI‑driven content operations.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑stack product work: React interfaces in Dashboards, APIs, backend services.
• MCP tools and integrations that extend what the agent can do.
• Agent loops: orchestration logic that decides what the agent does, when to involve a human.
• System prompts treated as engineering artifacts.
• Evals and experiments to measure and improve reliability in real usage.
• Using GROQ, Sanity’s content query language, to give the agent deep understanding of structured content.
• Shaping the future of Content Agent together with product and design.

Required profile

• Based in London, UK or Oslo, Norway, working onsite 2–3 days per week.
• Strong TypeScript and React skills, comfortable across the full stack.
• Experience shipping LLM‑based systems in production and ensuring reliable behavior for all users.
• System‑thinking mindset: anticipate edge cases, failure modes, and design appropriate architecture.
• Excellent writing ability to craft precise system prompts and instructions.
• Comfort with probabilistic systems, running experiments, designing evals and interpreting statistical results.
• Interest or experience with MCP tool‑use patterns and agent architectures.
• Commitment to code, writing, and product craftsmanship.
