Senior Software Engineer – CRISIL

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Risk Services team within Global Markets. The role focuses on designing and building scalable, distributed systems that process risk data, support analytics, and drive reporting workflows for a leading financial services provider.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance backend services and distributed systems for risk data and analytics platforms.
• Build and maintain scalable applications using Java (Spring / Spring Boot) and Python.
• Create solutions for risk data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines.
• Participate in system architecture reviews, performance optimisation, and code reviews.
• Work with large datasets to support risk calculations, reporting, and downstream analytics.
• Collaborate with risk, front‑office, and data teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system stability and performance.

Required profile

• 9–15 years of software development experience, preferably in financial services or large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with Java (Spring / Spring Boot) and Python.
• Proven ability to build distributed systems and micro‑services architectures.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
• Hands‑on experience with large‑scale data processing and messaging frameworks such as Kafka or MQ.
• Solid Unix/Linux knowledge and experience with XML and enterprise data integration patterns.
