Senior Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing scale‑up in Edinburgh. The role covers the full development lifecycle, from technical discovery and architectural design through rapid prototyping, development, deployment and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, development and delivery of full‑stack web applications.
• Drive technical discovery, architecture, platform innovation and AI‑assisted development.
• Design and implement scalable cloud‑native solutions on Google Cloud Platform, including serverless applications, APIs and micro‑services.
• Ensure code quality, reliability, performance and security through testing, code reviews, monitoring and incident response.
• Own products and features end‑to‑end, acting as the primary technical contact for stakeholders.
• Manage small projects and feature enhancements, including planning, estimation, task breakdown and Jira board management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using Agile methods and tools such as Jira, Figma, Miro and Storyboard.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience building enterprise‑grade full‑stack web applications.
• Strong front‑end skills with HTML, CSS/Sass, TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Hands‑on experience with reactive frameworks such as Vue, React or Svelte.
• Solid understanding of cloud‑native architecture on GCP and serverless patterns.
• Ability to work autonomously, communicate clearly and deliver high‑quality software.
