Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a growing civil and structural consultancy in Hertfordshire. The role offers end‑to‑end involvement in design and delivery across industrial, residential, energy and mission‑critical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Develop and deliver structural designs from concept through to construction documentation.
• Contribute to client advisory sessions and prepare fee proposals.
• Collaborate closely with architects, developers and design‑build contractors.
• Conduct occasional site visits to ensure design intent is met.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years’ design consultancy experience.
• 2:1 degree or higher in civil or structural engineering.
• Chartered status with IStructE or ICE.
• Strong knowledge of steel and reinforced concrete design.
• Excellent communication and lateral‑thinking abilities.
