About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Sub Editor to join a leading Cambridge‑based publishing and media organisation. The role is hybrid, combining office collaboration with remote work, and involves a mix of digital and print projects for major UK and US clients.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high‑quality sub‑editing of commercial written content daily, adhering to multiple style sheets.
- Oversee and refine content to ensure clarity and consistency without altering meaning.
- Collaborate with editors, designers, account managers and developers to meet client specifications.
- Act as the primary contact for junior team members, providing support and final checks.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of experience in a commercial publishing environment.
- Strong understanding of sub‑editing principles and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to edit content according to both UK and US English style guides.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and covering management duties when needed.
- Proficiency with InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite and Figma.
