Senior Support Worker – Castle Cary

About the role

Voyage Care is seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead its residential service in Castle Cary. You will help service users gain independence while supporting the manager with day‑to‑day supervision and operational tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals, encouraging independence in daily activities.
• Assist the Service Manager with shift planning, training bookings, and induction of new staff.
• Oversee supervision sessions, medication ordering, and financial management support for service users.
• Allocate shifts, monitor attendance and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Act as a point of contact for challenging behaviours and complex care needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker in a residential setting.
• Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).
• Experience supporting individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, mental health needs, or challenging behaviours.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to lead a small team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of health and social care regulations.
• Ability to manage medication and financial support processes.
• Competence in planning shifts and coordinating training.
