Senior Support Worker

About the role

The Senior Support Worker leads the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred care for adults with complex mental health conditions at Vane Hill Care Home. You will ensure a safe, stable and supportive environment while promoting independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Take charge of shift operations, providing clear direction and support to the care team.
• Oversee medication administration and ensure care plans are followed accurately.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records and respond promptly to incidents or changing resident needs.
• Foster effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
• Promote a calm, well‑managed environment at all times.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
• Medication training and competency in administration.
• Experience supporting or leading within a care environment.
• Strong leadership, organisational and resilience skills.
• Compassionate, reliable and calm approach with good teamwork abilities.

What we offer

• £13.60 per hour, contracted 46 hours over 4 days (day shift).
• Paid DBS check, pension scheme, uniform provision.
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (full‑time basis).
• Temporary full‑time contract with potential for development.
