Senior Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Senior Support Worker to join our team in Reading. You will deliver person‑centred care to adults with learning disabilities, helping them enjoy daily activities and achieve greater independence.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, manage and mentor a team of support staff.
• Develop warm, trusting relationships with service users.
• Encourage participation in social activities both inside and outside the home.
• Provide personal care, administer medication and work safely when alone.
• Support staff deployment, rota planning and cover evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies to deliver holistic support.
• Facilitate service‑user engagement, peer support and quality monitoring.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar support role.
• Strong communication skills and unconditional positive regard for service users.
• Flexibility to work on a rotating schedule that includes evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins.
• Commitment to person‑centred care and continuous professional development.
