Senior Support Worker

About the role

Join HFT, a leading social care provider, as a Senior Support Worker supporting learning‑disabled adults in Launceston. You will help individuals achieve independence, confidence and a fulfilling life through personalised support.

Key responsibilities

• Enable people to make their own choices and live in a way that feels right for them.
• Encourage participation in social, leisure, work and community activities.
• Promote health, safety and wellbeing while respecting personal decisions.
• Support attendance at health appointments and confident medication management.
• Build independence step‑by‑step, developing new skills and self‑belief.
• Provide personal care when needed and assist with daily living tasks.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding practices.

Required profile

• Passionate about supporting learning‑disabled adults.
• Patient, supportive and respectful of individual choices.
• Positive, encouraging attitude that celebrates achievement.
• Strong communication skills for building trusting relationships.
• Willingness to work towards a Health and Social Care qualification.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, waking and sleep‑in shifts.
• Experience in social care is welcome but not essential.
