Senior Support Worker – Specialist Care Home

About the role

The Lodge Care Home in Langport is seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead a team delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care for individuals with learning disabilities and complex health needs. You will manage shift operations, support staff, and ensure a safe, compassionate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of care during your shift.
• Provide clear direction and support to team members.
• Oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with care plans.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records and documentation.
• Respond promptly to incidents, changing needs, and concerns.
• Foster effective communication with the wider care team.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
• Medication training and competency in administration.
• Experience supporting or leading within a care environment.
• Strong leadership, organisational and calm approach.
• Compassionate, reliable and good teamwork skills.

• £13.60 per hour, 36.75 hours per week across three days.
