Senior System Engineer – Platform Engineering

About the role

Man Group is seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team in London. The role focuses on building and maintaining automation frameworks that support the firm’s global trading and quantitative research operations. You will work with cutting‑edge technologies at scale in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code solutions that manage tens of thousands of cores and hundreds of terabytes of memory.
• Develop and operate configuration‑management and orchestration platforms for Python‑based research and trading systems.
• Build monitoring and alerting systems to ensure reliability and performance of critical services.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development and other platform teams to drive automation initiatives.
• Promote the use of AI development tools to accelerate delivery and foster adoption across the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior systems or DevOps engineer in a large‑scale, high‑performance environment.
• Strong enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools to improve engineering workflows.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, attending the London office three days per week.
