Senior Systems Administrator – Hybrid – Glasgow/Edinburgh

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join a fast‑growing global SaaS company. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week on‑site in either central Glasgow or central Edinburgh, and offers the chance to own and modernise a diverse IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject‑matter expert for Windows, macOS, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and core Microsoft services.
• Administer and enhance Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Entra ID.
• Manage modern endpoint devices via Intune across Windows 10/11, macOS and iOS.
• Support Hyper‑V virtualisation, storage and backup platforms, and lead 2nd/3rd line escalations.
• Drive patching, system hardening, vulnerability remediation and contribute to migration projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, runbooks and asset records.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering Windows and macOS environments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune.
• Deep knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP and related services.
• Solid background in Hyper‑V, backup solutions and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Good networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, firewalls).
