Senior Systems Engineer – Hybrid (Bristol)

About the role

We are seeking a senior‑level Systems Engineer to join our client projects in Bristol on a hybrid basis. You will lead the design and integration of complex hardware‑software systems, ensuring safety, performance and lifecycle sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop system concepts and abstract architectures.
• Define, manage and verify system requirements throughout the lifecycle.
• Engineer design processes for hardware, software and mixed‑technology solutions.
• Conduct systems safety analysis and integrate safety requirements.
• Perform systems integration, partitioning and performance evaluation.
• Assess system integrity, resilience and environmental impact.
• Lead qualification, acceptance testing and verification activities.

Required profile

• Proven practitioner of systems engineering across multiple lifecycle phases.
• Professional engineering registration (e.g., CEng) or equivalent postgraduate qualifications.
• Degree in engineering or related technical discipline, or comparable experience.
• Ability to resolve ambiguity in requirements and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience delivering results in complex engineering environments.

Required skills

• Requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS.
• Architecture frameworks/tools: MODAF, NAF, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect.
