Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme, supporting enterprise‑scale infrastructure, cloud services and platform operations. The role will involve designing, delivering and improving modern hybrid platforms across cloud, on‑premises and containerised environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and support enterprise infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and on‑premises environments.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux platforms and manage Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure security, compliance, resilience and availability of all systems.
• Monitor performance, capacity and support backup, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Mentor junior engineers and produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Systems, Infrastructure or Platform Engineer in large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities across cloud, container and on‑premises platforms.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work with architects, security teams and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure administration and cloud‑native services.
• Kubernetes and OpenShift container platforms.
• Windows Server and Linux system administration.
• Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates) and automation frameworks.
• Scripting and orchestration tools.
• Monitoring, alerting and observability solutions.
• Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
