Senior Systems Engineer (Server and Cloud Technologies Specialist)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with specialist expertise in server and cloud technologies to join our team in Ringwood. You will play a key part in delivering complex infrastructure projects, ensuring operational excellence and supporting a wide range of Microsoft‑based services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and support Microsoft server and Azure cloud solutions across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver technical aspects of large‑scale projects.
• Manage incident response, preventative maintenance and continuous service improvement.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and maintain high‑availability environments.
• Administer virtualization platforms, including Hyper‑V clustering and Windows Admin Centre.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar senior engineering role within a large Microsoft‑focused environment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and produce clear documentation.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, ownership‑driven attitude.
• Eligibility for a standard DBS check.

• Active Directory Domain Services and Certificate Services (PKI).
• Microsoft System Center Suite – MECM, DPM, SCOM.
• Microsoft Azure (Azure Files, IaaS VMs, backup & recovery).
• Microsoft 365, Office 365 and Intune.
• Windows Server administration.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Hyper‑V (clustered and standalone), Windows Admin Centre and Failover Clustering.
• SQL Server (clustered and standalone).
