Senior Theatre Practitioner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner to join a leading private healthcare provider in Crowborough. Working closely with the Theatre Manager and multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality peri‑operative care for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day management of the theatre department, including workload, staffing and resources.
• Provide senior clinical leadership and act on behalf of the Theatre Manager when required.
• Deliver evidence‑based patient care throughout the peri‑operative journey.
• Supervise, mentor and support junior staff, contributing to their development and training.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain excellent patient service.
• Lead or support the team during emergencies and assist with incident and complaint management.
• Promote best practice, professional standards and a positive working environment.
• Maintain professional competence, mandatory training and up‑to‑date peri‑operative knowledge.

Required profile

• Registered with NMC or HCPC as a Registered Nurse or Level 3 ODP.
• Previous experience as a Theatre Practitioner, preferably in an orthopaedic theatre setting.
• Strong peri‑operative knowledge and experience mentoring colleagues.
• Excellent communication, leadership and decision‑making abilities.
• Proactive approach to professional development and evidence‑based practice.
• Compassionate, patient‑focused attitude and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Level 3 ODP qualification
