Senior Town Planner – Edinburgh

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Town Planner to join our Edinburgh team within a respected property and planning consultancy. The role offers the chance to work on high‑profile residential, commercial, mixed‑use, energy and regeneration projects across Scotland and the wider UK.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of planning projects from inception through to determination.
• Prepare and submit planning applications, appraisals and appeals.
• Provide strategic planning advice to developers, investors, landowners and public sector clients.
• Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
• Support business development and maintain strong client relationships.
• Mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Required profile

• MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership with relevant experience.
• Strong background in consultancy or local authority planning.
• Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
• Commercial awareness and client‑facing experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of the Scottish planning system.
