Senior Town Planner – Strategic Planning & Development

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is supporting a leading UK planning consultancy in Stratford‑upon‑Avon to hire a Senior Town Planner. The role offers the chance to work on strategic planning projects, residential development applications and land promotions within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on the development potential of land and buildings.
• Prepare and support planning applications, appeals and related documentation.
• Provide policy advice, conduct research and draft representations for consultations and Local Plan examinations.
• Identify and assess potential land opportunities.
• Collaborate with clients, design, economics and heritage specialists to deliver high‑quality development proposals.
• Participate in planning appeals and Local Plan examinations as required.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Town Planning (or working towards one).
• Significant experience delivering planning applications, appeals and strategic development work.
• Strong understanding of UK planning policy and processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
