Senior Trader - Beer and Cider

About the role

Morrisons is recruiting a Senior Trader (Beer and Cider) for its commercial team at the Head Office in Bradford. As a Buyer you will plan, source, select and negotiate a competitively priced product range across all channels, maximising sales and margin. The role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the category plan for a high-spend, complex area
• Drive sales and profit by turning customer insight into the right range and customer proposition
• Deliver margin targets through negotiation and robust supplier plans
• Improve supplier relationships and engagement, including regular supplier visits, while delivering the supplier's 12-point charter
• Use market and competitor insight to develop compelling category strategies
• Support the Buying team's high-performance culture and help colleagues grow professionally
• Help deliver a great customer experience and operate in line with the Grocery Suppliers Code of Practice

Required profile

• Track record as a Buying Manager or Senior Buyer in a similar environment
• Proven experience delivering category strategies in a complex, competitive market
• Strong customer focus and ability to work at pace in a fast, flexible environment
• Significant commercial understanding with strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Experience building relationships at all levels and driving unified strategies
