Senior Transport Planner

About the role

Gregory Distribution Group is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join the team on‑site at Numatic’s Head Office in Chard. You will be the primary point of contact for a key customer, overseeing daily transport operations and ensuring service levels meet expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee transport activities for the Numatic account, managing activity levels and ensuring seamless execution.
• Act as the main on‑site liaison, fostering strong relationships and clear communication between the customer and Gregory’s wider business.
• Schedule daily loads, work with internal operational teams, and optimise vehicle routing for cost‑effective solutions.
• Hold regular performance reviews with operational stakeholders and customer representatives to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Identify and develop opportunities to enhance service delivery, add value and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in transport planning or logistics coordination.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven capability to manage customer relationships and deliver on service commitments.
