Senior Transport Planner

About the role

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is supporting a fast‑growing multidisciplinary consultancy in Maidstone, Kent. The Senior Transport Planner will own projects from concept to delivery, work on high‑profile schemes and mentor junior staff while developing technical and leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage transport planning projects from initial concept through to successful delivery.
• Produce and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Support larger, high‑profile development projects alongside multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders to maintain effective relationships.
• Undertake junction capacity assessments and analyse transport data using industry‑standard software.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest professional standards.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in a transport planning consultancy or the public sector.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Desirable: Master’s degree in Transport Planning or related discipline and membership of CIHT or CILT.
