Senior UI Engineer – Objective‑C/C++ (iOS/macOS)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior UI Engineer to join the Affinity team at Canva, building high‑performance, native user interfaces for iOS and macOS applications. You will work on the Affinity product suite, delivering elegant, responsive UI components that empower creative professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑performance UI code in Objective‑C and C++ for iOS and macOS.
• Contribute to architectural decisions across shared libraries and components.
• Optimize applications for responsiveness, memory usage and overall performance.
• Ensure UI feels native across mouse, touch and stylus interactions.
• Debug and improve complex systems throughout the Affinity suite.
• Collaborate with design, QA and product teams to deliver pixel‑perfect implementations.

Required profile

• Several years of professional experience with Objective‑C and C++.
• Hands‑on iOS or macOS development using Xcode.
• Strong focus on code quality, maintainability and attention to detail.
• Clear communicator who enjoys learning and solving complex problems.
