Senior Vice President – Credit Officer, Special Assets

About the role

Citi is seeking an experienced credit professional to lead its Special Assets portfolio. As a Senior Vice President, you will operate within the Risk Management business, overseeing stressed and distressed credit exposures and driving restructuring initiatives to maximise recovery value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the management of a portfolio of high‑risk credit exposures across multiple industries.
• Define and implement account and exposure strategies, including workout and restructuring plans.
• Provide independent risk oversight, challenge, and approvals in line with second‑line‑of‑defence responsibilities.
• Ensure accurate risk ratings, regulatory classifications, and cost‑of‑credit assessments.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external advisors to deliver tailored solutions.
• Mentor and develop junior staff within the Special Assets team.
• Participate in special projects and priority initiatives, recommending process improvements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in credit analysis, restructuring, and distressed‑asset management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk‑rating frameworks.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive consensus.
• Excellent communication and diplomatic skills for interacting with borrowers, regulators, and senior management.
