Senior Warehouse Assistant

About the role

The Senior Warehouse Assistant will support day‑to‑day warehouse operations and help maintain a safe, efficient site. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will oversee stock movements, guide junior assistants and ensure compliance with ISO and health‑and‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Check and book incoming stock, replenish inventory and manage stock‑out processes.
• Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate records.
• Lead and mentor Warehouse Assistants, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
• Coordinate with couriers to track, ship or collect items promptly.
• Support ISO9001 accreditation, health‑and‑safety assessments and risk evaluations.
• Handle paperwork, filing and archiving in line with company procedures.
• Assist other departments with warehouse‑related queries and requests.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with a track record of supervising small teams.
• Ability to work flexibly, including longer hours when required.
• Willingness to travel and to work in a semi‑rural setting.
• Strong communication skills across all organisational levels.
• Physical fitness for handling heavy goods.

Required skills

• Forklift truck operation (or ability to obtain certification).
• Knowledge of ISO9001 standards and health‑and‑safety requirements.
• Clean driving licence and own vehicle for site access.
