Senior Windows Server Administrator

About the role

The role is for a Senior Windows Server Administrator based in Southampton, acting as the primary escalation point for complex Wintel infrastructure issues. You will work within a global technology business, supporting a broad environment that includes servers, virtualization, storage, file, email and collaboration technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting across Windows Server environments and act as senior escalation point for high‑priority incidents.
• Support projects involving virtualization, hyper‑converged infrastructure and the migration from VMware to Azure Local.
• Work across server, storage, file, email and collaboration systems, ensuring security, resilience and capacity requirements are met.
• Mentor and develop less‑experienced IT administrators.
• Research and recommend new technologies, contributing to technical road‑maps and improvement plans.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Windows Server and deep troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, replication and certificate management.
• Ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues under pressure and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and contributing to technical strategy.
